Anyone have TC in 223, 243, 308 for sale. Cancer patient can't shoulder rifle because of infusion port. Trying to get ready for deer season so he can hunt while he can.
Thanks

Wish I could say I did. I have a rifle but not pistol
Guessing they can't shoot on the opposite shoulder?

Sorry to hear of the health problems. It's good of you to be trying to help. Thompson Center makes two different handgun/rifle frames, the Contender and the Encore. To simplify it, the Contender is suited for lower pressure rounds while the Encore can be used w/ either lower or higher pressure rounds. The 223 Rem is ok for both the Contender or the Encore. OTOH, the 243 and 308 (as well as 250 Savage, 260 Rem, 270 Win, 7-08 Rem, 280 Rem, 7 Mag, 30-06, etc) can not be safely used in the Contender. The better factory rounds for the Contender are the 7x30 Waters, 300 Whisper/Black Out, 30-30 Win and 35 Rem. I've got a 7x30 Waters barrel I'm willing to part w/, but I don't have any spare Contender frames to sell. If interested, send me contact info. The shooter will also need a handgun, not a rifle, scope. I'd suggest a Burris 2-7X handgun scope. I'd recommend a 14" barrel in the Contender and 15" barrel in the Encore.
I've bought a number of guns/barrels from Specialty Pistols Forums w/ full satisfaction. In fact, there's 243 Win Encore barrel on sale there now. Buying Encore/Contender barrels does not require a FFL, but buying a frame does. You can find a LOT of good info on handgun hunting at the 'Specialty Pistols" website.
I love hunting w/ handguns, but it's not easy to learn, especially w/ a handgun scope. Your buddy might find it easier learning to shoot his rifle from the opposite shoulder.
