100% agree.
I used quite a bit of VBA in my last job. It was helpful to build spreadsheets from a mess of data.

Once that data is in a useful form, it only complicates things beyond most user's ability to work with it.

If you're in financial modeling you'll likely just need to summarize and illustrate aspects of existing data, using pivot tables.

If you're looking to do database management, you're better off learning something like Access or SQL.
