The decocker on my new P226 works exactly the way you described. I also have a Sig Mosquito and its decocker is totally different.

I'm just used to the down motion bringing the hammer to the decocked position - again, as it has worked in 5 other classics and a SigPro model. I'll get used to it, I suppose.
