I just took delivery on a Sig P226. I ordered a "plain" and I am not versed well enough on what constitutes an "E2" model, or even the "E2" grip if applicable. This is my 6th classic Sig over the past 25 years or so.

Okay - the question - with all of my classic Sigs, and even the Sp2022, the decocker drops the hammer well past the halfway mark, almost to the full DA position - at the bottom of the decocking motion, and the release has always felt akin to a trigger reset, with only minimal movement of the hammer after that.

The new pistol, at the bottom of the decocking motion, the hammer clicks and moves maybe 1/16 of the way back to decocked - and the release of the decocker releases the hammer all the rest of the way to the DA hammer position.

Is this a redesign? Anyone else experienced this? Is this worth a call to Sig customer service?

Thanks.

That's what mine does too. It's normal

Do you see any grip screws? If not, you have an E2. The kit should have come with grip tool like this:

The decocker on my new P226 works exactly the way you described. I also have a Sig Mosquito and its decocker is totally different.
