The story here is not Les, but Cyd. Les is just being the fundamentally decent man that he is. Cyd on the other hand, is displaying raw courage and character. He drew a hand that no young man deserves and is fighting with everything he has. Bless him, and give him and his family strength. He is a lesson for the rest of us, an invaluable study in courage.
Here's to Cyd Ortis. A young man with Chest.

I live in Bham. Been following this story a while. Last year Sid came back to school, every student had P&G balloons and ribbons everywhere
They also got a makeup artist from the walking dead (his favorite show) to paint everyone like zombies.
I didn't know he took a turn for the worst. Breaks my heart

Sid is my cousin as well. Couldn't have been a better game for him to go to! Props to Les Miles and LSU for making this happen.

I too have been critical of Les, however it's things like this that overshadow any football game. Les is the best.

We can have doubts of the way Les coaches but there is absolutely no noubt that Les is a great man. I'm Proud to have him represent LSU.

Hope this guy defeats all odds and kicks cancer right square in the ARSE!

Sad picture, but beautiful also. The disease has forced that young boy to "grow up" and face the sometimes harsh realities of life long before he ever should've been forced to do so.
I see wisdom in that boy's face, and a maturity beyond his years. Terrible, terrible way to gain wisdom and insight, though.
Prayers this morning for both the young man and his family. I bet he enjoyed the game. Great thing for Coach Miles to do.

This is awesome. That is the reason the ONLY charity I give to is St. Jude. Cancer is an ageless disease.

Character and Class has never been a problem for Les. Anyone can criticize some of his calls on the field, that's football, but no one should doubt the character of that guy....

Les's friendship for this boy is just what I've come to expect of Les, the man. So proud and happy that this young man came to Tiger Stadium as Les Miles' guest.
The cancer that struck this young man is osteosarcoma. Sarcoma strikes the young in distressingly large numbers. If you can, give to hospitals that treat these young folks.
