Would we even have enough money, trade value to pursue him? He's obviously done in Seattle.

So you want us to trade for him and then sign him to a large contract?

If you get them to bite on a trade for Byrd.

Byrd straight up.
But, no, we couldn't afford him.

Yeah let's buy all our safeties.

We could have him for Byrd's contract. Hypothetically.

Well, assuming Seattle would be willing to trade him (which they wouldn't), the Saints would have to restructure several contracts and probably cut one maybe two good players to fit him in. Not to mention the trade itself which would mean probably giving up Vacarro and a 2nd rd pick since Chancellor is a SS. Would he really be worth all that?

Tell us again how Atlanta did last year when we signed Byrd?????
'cuz I thought Carolina won the division and New England won the Super Bowl and ATL came in 3rd in the NFCS....

Insane how dire our safety situation looks right now compared to one year ago.

Unless we are getting cap space back through a retirement, Byrd's going to cost us whether he is here or not. We can't just reallocate that money otherwise.
