You have to know how big Warner is to really appreciate the true force of that hit. That would have decapitated a smaller man.

2. Improved OL play

Starting OL looked good with Evans playing healthier and the addition of Unger. I think a lot of his early camp problems were just him getting back into shape (as much as a beefy guard can) and re-establishing his football regimen. As long as our interior OLine stays healthy, I'm not worried at all about the line.

3. Defense not looking like warmed over dog shite.

It starts in the trenches. Hopefully whatever deficiencies we have in the secondary will be less obvious if we are attacking the LOS.

a win will be nice but I'd be near as happy if seeing the defense show some real life in a loss. Anthony the real deal, Breaux being legit, Browner physically dominating, sacks from somewhere... anywhere, etc.

What will Kikaha's jersey number be, lol that's my biggest question right now.

I've been thinking lately about this young defensive line we have. On the one hand they'll likely make a lot of mistakes initially. On the other hand, the energy level will be high. We looked pretty sluggish along the line at times last year. The guys we kept were consistently disruptive all preseason. It may not translate into sacks, but maybe it'll throw off the timing and tackles behind the line.

their WRs vs our CBs with Lewis out.

Our receiving corp vs. their secondary is daunting as well. It looks like we're going to go into a game with 4 WRs, 2 TEs(neither who are that physically gifted), and without presumably our best RB in the passing game and that's extremely surprising.

I think we'll be looking to establish ourselves on the ground early and often.

That's racist as frick, bro.

When comparing Hill and Graham's metrics against all tight ends participating in the Combine between 2000-2015 (300 of them), both rank in the top quartile in height, 40-yard dash, vertical leap, broad jump, and 3-cone drill. Hill actually gains an edge on Graham in the 20-yard shuttle, a measure of agility, with his time of 4.19 seconds (84th percentile), beating Graham's 4.45 second time (33rd percentile).

Hill is VERY athletic.

My four biggest things I'm watching:
1) Our WRs against a good secondary. Peterson doesn't stick to one side of the field, he frequently shadows the team's best WR. If Cooks can get open against him, I'll be even more psyched about his prospects this season. Also would like to see Coleman take advantage of Mathieu. He will struggle to seperate, but he has about 9 inches on him. Would also like to see Colston show signs of life against the subpar Jerraud Powers.

2) Our young LBs. Just want to see Anthony and Kikaha play well. AZ has a shitty OL, so I would really like to see Kikaha play well.

3) Want to see Breaux live up to the hype. I really do stay pretty objective with this team, but I have a hunch that he's going to be an absolute stud. I'm buying the hype. I believe he had one pass against him in the preseason. One was a deep one with good coverage where he got injured. He then played another game where I don't recall him being targeted.

4) Akiem Hicks. I think that when our secondary gets healthy, they'll be pretty good. I also think that we will have an above average run defense. Hicks will be huge in terms of pass rush. Cam will get his 8-10 sacks and a reasonable amount of pressures. Hicks probably has to be the guy that helps him getting after the QB. I'm also very curious to see how he is used. I don't recall seeing it in the preseason (I don't think he played much), but some articles implied that he would be playing a lot of 5 tech, possibly even on the weakside. He lost 20 pounds over the offseason, so I can't wait to see him in action. I think Hicks is the biggest wild card in terms of how good we'll be.

Hill can't supplant Ben Watson as starter. I'll keep waiting for the "oh shite, here comes Josh Hill" moment to actually happen and not just be a dream of this message board.

We come out, or at least used to, 5 wide a decent amount. Are Hill/Watson and Ingram going to be in that 5 wide? I don't like that.

That's fine. Has nothing to do with his athleticism.

And I still expect Hill to have a role in the offense. I see him putting up around 350 yards and 5TDs. With our focusing on the running game more than ever, think we use more two TE sets, giving him a lot of opportunities.

Then we should have more than 2 of them.

Spiller (mostly) and Hill will mix it up there. I don't see much of Watson or Ingram in that situation.

I think they may put off #3 until one of the other two get hurt. It's not like we're fricked if we lose one in the middle of a game. Peat will come in for a lot of jumbo packages. We may even get some Strief being eligible like the good ole days.

I'm talking long term. I guess I should have clarified being that we are in the Arizona specific thread.

I don't see having to use Hill (or maybe even Murphy) in 5 WR sets as a big deal for one game. We very well may not line up in that formation at all.

the more I look the more I see BOTH O-lines as THE key to a W

AZ OL is depleted. They have great WRs and we have depleted DBs. The pressure will be the key in supplanting any weakness on the backend.

We know the Saints OL was a level below what we are used to last year. The changes look solid enough to return to dominance... but ya never know till gametime. If the ground game rolls I don't think AZ keeps up- no matter what the D does.

A WIN.

It's vital to get out of the starting gates early in an NFL season.
