A lot of folks forget how young he is, just 19 years old (still). Wont even turn 20 until October.

Yep, Harris basically determines how our season will go down at this point

That was tough to read. Did he even attempt to proofread it?

I liked the article, but wasn't thrilled with the ending. I just don't get the concern over turnovers. Harris in limited time accounted for 9 total TDs and only 1 true INT. (Jennings with the entire season + a bowl game and with far more opportunities only accounted for 12 TDs and 8 Ints with like what 2 fumbles or so..) Harris is poised to have a monster year.
What matters most to me is the TD to turnover ratio. The offense scores far more often with Harris behind center. I agree that a year in the system will make all the difference in the world.. so he will not only be relying on pure talent, but now he has a better grasp of everything.
I don't agree with the he just needs to play mediocre-average and take care of the football mentality.. As much as the offense stalled under Jennings, every time we go 3 and out is like another turnover. I would gladly take 5 TDs a game even if it meant 2 turnovers. Especially with a great defense behind you. I also don't agree with Miles putting a number on how many yards we need to pass for a game. There is nothing wrong with sticking to the run if it is working efficiently. What we do need to do is score more Touchdowns, especially inside the red zone. Less of this settling for fgs.. Put up TDs. Harris gets this team in the endzone. This will make for an exciting season!
Very good article though. Thank you for sharing.

The problem with such articles is
flat out inaccurate and doesnt mention the fact that he was injured. He was a freshman and his greatest asset was his ability to move, without that at full speed he would be carrying a load on a flat tire.

The true sophomore played sparingly in 2014, and at times provided a spark for the Tiger offense. However, when thrust into the starting role on the road at Auburn, he struggled and never saw significant action again. Harris never seemed to earn the trust of the coaches in 2014, despite Jennings’ obvious struggles. Whether it was his lack of knowledge of the playbook or his at times questionable decision making, Harris simply could not get onto the field when it mattered.

quote:I don't think it's accurate at all. It doesn't account for the fact that he was injured in the Auburn game as a significant reason he didn't get much playing time after that rather than assuming that the coaches had zero confidence in him. Gunslinger is not fair since it implies racking up interceptions, which he hasn't. Lumping Harris with Jennings and last years team stats is not accurate. He played very little of it.
Pretty Accurate take on Harris
quote:Not quite having a grasp of the offense yet is very different from being prone to mistakes. BH hasn't shown whether he is prone to mistakes or not yet. He didn't play enough to earn a "far too often" label yet.
That being said, he is prone to mistakes that can cost the team a game. At times, Harris looked like an All-American last year, but far too often he looked like he didn’t belong under center in the SEC.
I'm not saying BH is going to be a Heisman candidate this year. He may turn out to be darn average. But to imply that he has accumulated a body of work at this point and it's awful is both inaccurate and unfair.

Harris did not have enough playing time to say he had a gunslinger mentality and was prone to mistakes and making bad decisions.
The only thing I really agree with is that he is the X factor. If he performs as well as everyone hopes the championship is a very real possibility.

More great insight from a hack who has never seen Harris or Jennings except on tv. He didn't have an article ready by deadline so he slapped this pos together based on what he heard in a men's room last spring.
