Exactly...but with that being said, the batteries are only guaranteed for 8 years on the Tesla.

Not exactly apples to oranges, but Consumer Reports found Prius Batteries to be relatively unchanged after 200,000 miles. LINK

About the same as most car warranties... which never include the engine to that length of time anyway.

But there's a reason for this. Tesla's first roadster was built in 2008... almost 8 years ago. Those batteries are still functioning at 85% capacity which is excellent retention.

I have 4 Prius (Prii?), one personal and 3 in my wok fleet. Most have over 125,000 mi and none have had even a minor battery issues. Because of the ominous predictions, I was concerned early on, but no longer. I assume Tesla will have at least the same battery life.
