Video: Justin Vincent on Katrina, 2005 ASU post game speech

SIAP, did a search and didn't see anything.
Justin Vincent thoughts on Katrina and what it meant to him. Leads in to his thoughts on Les Miles and playing the ASU game on the road. Ends with Les Miles' post game speech to the team.
Say what you want about his hat, the quirky way he speaks, his in-game time management, or the fact that he eats grass from the sidelines; he is a great man and did a phenomenal job leading that team through great adversity.

Without Katrina, we contend for championship that year. Team was tired and beat down playing 13 weeks in a row!

That team doesn't get nearly enough credit for what they endured that season.
IMO they should be welcomed back sometime this season and applauded at halftime.

A lot of times Les Miles pisses me off with his decision making and what not. But I do give him praise for how he handled the entire katrina situation. Many coaches would have jumped ship or shite the bed. But he didn't and it's one of the few things people tend to forget about the Miles era.

In my opinion , Les was the perfect coach for that season. It was his first and his personality allowed our guys to stay strong despite the chaos. At that point in his career, Nick was still a total control freak. His inability to control the schedule , environment and his players lives would have led to total chaos and or open rebellion. Les engaged the players and allowed them the flexibility to help their family and friends. He also took the changes in schedule in stride. We blew a Tenn game that we should have easily won due yo emotional fatigue (Yes I know we played corners off the ball and didn't rush in the second half. It occurred bc everyone was out of shape and tired at that point ). Talent wise, no one beats is at the end of the year in a playoff. All in all, there is no team that I am prouder of considering all they did to help their fellow citizens.

Wow. Its so crazy how night and day Miles speaking abilities are. Sometimes he seems to struggle piecing together sentences in a normal fashion and then he turns around and gives his teams some of the most memorable motivational speeches you'll ever hear.

2005 may be my favorite football season that didn't result in a NC.

That dude gives some of the best pre and post game speeches. He goes from a goober in sideline interviews to Churchill in the locker room.
