Should we sit our starters next game?

I know traditionally the 3rd preseason game is the "dress rehearsal," but I,ve honestly seen everything I want. Maybe play a starter here or there, but for the most part start with the second string and fringe players.

No.
I feel less confident about our receivers outside Cooks and Colston than I did before.

Defense, heck no
Offense I'm indifferent

Well they could be a part of the select starters to play, but at this point, from what they've shown me, i think we should be careful not to expose our high performing players to injury.

Uh, no.
3rd preseason, no...4th, yes.

Agree with Chad.
frick no on defense.
Our receivers need to get pegged in the hands all game. Cut whoever has most drops at the end

I would let Brees play one series both the next two games and sit his arse

Brees see's a quarter, quarter and a half like every year. He will get his reps with the starters, for timing.

What I saw from the defense:
I saw improved pass rush, not great
Run defense is excellent
Coverage is great, mostly underneath stuff
Tackling in the first unit was good

I've been out of town and haven't been able to keep up with everything, so what's the status on our starting secondary? How many of them are expected back for the opener?

Paytons first comment in the post game presser: I thought we looked good, but we didn't hit the quarterback all night and that's concerning"

Everyone (outside of Byrd, who no one knows anything about) is expected to be back for the season. Payton is being extra cautious with them.

Our top 4 DBs have yet to all play in a game together, hell naw.
I'd like to see Drew for another few series just to get my fap out the way, then I'm good.
But seriously I'd like to see Coleman get more time. I haven't seen really much of anything from the guy who supposedly has the #3 spot on lock down.

frick, I missed almost all of CSP's presser.
It must have been short.

Right. It's an improvement from last week when we didn't even come close. Still have a ways to go.

they said they expect Byrd back before the 4th preseason game

Payton seemed annoyed that we really didn't hit the QB tonight. So the defense definitely needs more work.

Anybody know what question he laughed off, and didn't answer?

We need to start Brees with the 3rd string O-Line. He needs to take some hits to get ready for the season.
