I think a lot of people are seeing it for the first time because it's on HBO right now.
I'll say it's one of the most unique/refreshing movies of the last five years. I wouldn't say it's the "best."

Is it really that good to everryone? It was an entertaining movie, but it did not have the effect on me that its apparently had on those on this board. Whiplash, was a great movie.... John Wick was an entertaining movie. Its just a revenge action movie. Not the deepest plot, but well done. I dont get the love. Its nice to have an action movie that was well done, so I get that its liked. But I think we need to differentiate between that and best movie in the last 5 years.

It's a action shooter movie, similar to an action fighter movie. Keanu shoots people in a far different way than, say, Stallone or Bruce Willis, or any other action hero; but that doesn't make the movie great- it's just extremely unique in style.
