re: Trey Quinn fielding a punt in practice

If Quinn was playing in a spread offense, he'd have caught a ton of balls last year. Instead, he's stuck in a two-tight end, one receiver offense in which he has about 2-3 three passes a game thrown his way if he's lucky. Dropping one or two passes at LSU is monumental, because we only attempt to pass when we face third and long. The coaching staff thinks very highly of Quinn. The first couple of games last year they were designing plays specifically to get him the ball (reverses, goal line plays). Unfortunately, our qb's competed at a high school junior varsity level and we had to scrap a real offense for the goal line offense all game long.

At LSU it's not only out, but been out.

Which sorta makes you wonder how do we keep landing these guys?
Loyalty to their state I suppose.

this is false. the problem is you have diarse, dural, Dupree ahead of you. and of course a few balls were thrown to the tes. even if we went 3-4 wide, he'd still be the 5th guy looked at. and when he wasn't, he dropped it. players got to make plays when called upon. that's usually how young guys get on the feild, they make a play, the coaches keep calling their number.

Ur not making a point here. I never said he wasn't a good baseball player. I didn't know u had to play on one of the better programs to be considered good. I'm mind blown. He wasn't better than Jones on the diamond my man.

when you're the best player on a team that sends 6 kids to D-1 schools like LSU(2), OK St and ULL, I'd say that says something.
I know you've never seen him play. Your opinion means nothing in this case, just your usual bias.

That isn't a problem. Different receivers have different skill sets. He's a quick and explosive receiver.
Look at the successful NFL offenses. They have receivers with different skill sets.
Saints use Colston in the slot and take advantage of his height on seems making it safer to go over Linebackers with the ball
We played Lance Moore wide where his lack of height was less of an issue and he could use his explosiveness to gain separation

the irony is stating that his issue is having 3 WRs ahead of him, when 4 WR sets are common in the spread offense

or the fact that he ended with more catches than all those guys except Dural
