The Jackson Daily News was a pretty racist paper.
The nightclub owner boarded up the windows so no one could watch from outside or sneak in. Same reason he padlocked the back door. Allegations were made the white police chief took bribes to allow him to do it.
Then the roof was metal and covered with spanish moss intentionally put on the roof. It was sprayed with a chemical to keep the bugs away or kill them.
Band was nationally known. Walter Barnes.

Actually it's not the best, there is one from across the river in waterproof, LA that said "Waterproof Negro Drowns". That is the best, have a copy of that paper frame somewhere, it hung on the wall in my grandfathers office for years
