It's not confusing. Alpha isn't defined in tangibles. It's a primal genetic instinct. Some have it. Some don't. No amount of peacocking will cover up the other short commings.

This is fascinating to me. Best explanation I've seen. I'm dating an alpha now (after being married to a beta), and you're right: it's inherent.
