Tailgater satellite for Directv

I need a satellite and box for tailgate, camp, etc.
I called Directv and after being transferred 3 times, I finally spoke to someone who gave me the number for Winegard.
Directv said Winegard will sell and install the satellite. But I don't want this permanently installed cause I will use it at the hunting camp too.
What is the best way to go about getting a satellite for a camper, camp, etc...and have the bill still on my main (home) Directv bill?

Winegard has portable models.

I went to wineguard's site and found the option to buy a directv tripod dish for $169 in literally 10 seconds

Ahh...another perk for having Dish

If you can use Dish Network instead of Direct, they have a better portable option

Dish did have a really cool tailgating dish, not sure if they still have it. But it beat having to park so you could get signal, and u could literally keep it away from everyone.

Just buy a Slimline model off of eBay but make sure you have a spare SWM to bring with you if you will be using an HD box. If using an older HD box you can get away with B Band converters depending on the satellite.

What about the box? Do u get that from Winegard or DirectTV?

Just have a system installed at your home. Get a tripod mount for a pole that the dish is mounted on. Go anywhere you want to after that. For years I been doing this camping and one on my boat.

Just take a rarely used box from your house. That's what most people do

Quick Question:
Couldn't you just sling box the shite to your tailgating tv, if ur service is compatible and has sling service(dish)

Switch to DISH, problem solved
Tailgater auto finds satellites on its own. No pain in the arse trying to turn it just right.

I know nothing about sling box. I used to just take a box from my house, change ZIP code, and it would work. Not sure how it works now

I love my tailgator. Bought it thru camping world, also the receiver and remote. Called dish, had it added.
Have watched tv in every state we have camped in. It's easy as hell to operate.
No satelite-it's a little light cube with a handle. Finds the signal itself.

It's very useful for outdoor patio television as well.

Buy an extra dish
Take a box from home
You will need a power inserter between the dish and the box if you go HD
Aiming an HD dish is no walk in the park

I guess just have someone watching the tv as someone moves the dish, right? Then they hollar..."got a good picture"... am I on the right track?
