Aside from the rampant misogyny and the assumption that there is indeed a father in the picture, what would be insufficient about her beating him with a purse or umbrella?
And if he proceeded to beat her up we are talking about a far more serious crime. Apples to oranges.
I just think this is a complete and utter waste of resources.
