Going home every night. Sure I feel sometimes that maybe I missed out on something
The best parts of college aren't the big parties on thurs. fri. and sat. they are a group of guys getting randomly drunk on a whim on a tuesday and ending up fricked up lost and degenerate at a pizza place on the wrong side of town.
You can still go out and party on the weekends as an adult, the spontaneous fun at all hours of the day and night is something fairly specific to college, and living at home is not conducive to that.

I think everyone - including me, earlier - is giving this random stranger way too much shite for having his son live at home his first semester. Maybe it's the son's choice. Maybe they pulled all their resources together and can only afford tuition and books. He's not going to BRCC; he's going to the state's flagship university (hopefully majoring in something other than liberal arts). So he has to start out at home. There are many worse alternatives.
I lived like a king during my nine years of school in Baton Rouge and now have the student loan payments to prove it.
