I rarely listen to coaches, and even less during the off-season, but our concern is justified.

We saw horrific QB play last year from Jennings. Barring miraculous improvement, Jennings will still be bad.

If Harris is better, we would like to have seen him come out of spring as "the guy" and have the coaches excited about him as the starter.

This "we don't know yet who the starter will be" attitude is very concerning, because if AJ is still in the mix, then that means Harris isn't markedly better and we have a problem.

By the way, I'm still a big Harris fan and hope he starts and produces on the field. I'm just concerned. Don't know why you can't acknowledge that.

Or maybe they don't want Harris to act entitled and to continue working hard.

That's not what it means.

Jennings started all but 1 game last year. You people act like replacing him is as easy as posting on a message board. It's not. There are more factors in this than just "who is the better player". He was essentially the leader of the offense last year. He was not really good but replacing the starting QB who's just going into his junior isn't an easy decision, especially when Miles is a guy who coaches with so much emotion and goes with his gut.

This is not intended to be a knock on Les either. Both camps, the "Start Harris because he is clearly better" along with the "Les will play the best guy, period" crowd lack perspective.

Growing pains suck for fans. However, any praises or complaints after this season will be justified from a fans perspective. Jennings 3 years in the program and Harris 2, with the talent loaded on O whichever QB starts should produce as well as other elite programs get their unknowns and newbies to produce (win).

Anything less than 10 wins and something will have to change.
