In his best seasons the obp was still nothing amazing so I am not sure. I can't take the credit, but other DATTERS said that when Springer comes back, we believe Gomez will be in the fourth hole.


I think maybe because of speed and power threat behind Altuve.

career .315 OBP but he does have last year and previous where he topped .350 and .330 respectively.... other than that he has been a .300 OBP guy for his career it seems. I mean batting him 5th would seem more productive and higher OBP guys above him.

He's one of the few guys we have on the team that are decent at getting on base. So they bat him in front of Correa and whoever is hitting cleanup

The only argument you can make to move Gomez down right now is Lowrie, who may end up batting second with Gomez clean up soon.
