While I'm sure many on this board loathe him, you can't deny he's had a pretty big impact on late night tv.
Can't say I agree with him on everything politically, but I've always appreciated the mirror he shined on the ridiculousness of cable news.

I'll miss some of the stuff the correspondents did.

Dude is a legend. His last day will be a sad day for America.

It's ok, there are still plenty of quality liberal comedy political shows out there, you probably won't even notice he's gone.

He was surpassed by peak Colbert (though interestingly enough, Colbert's biggest performance wasn't on his own show) and right now Oliver is doing something that's like an evolution of the medium, shifting from straight comedy and criticism to actually informing and activating his audience, but Stewart meant something for a solid decade he was basically the best and most talked about late-night host, and possibly comedian in America, he was also sadly enough, probably a better news source than any major cable news personality.

hope Stewart's replacement is better than Colbert's. Wilmore's show is just God awful.
CC could go find themselves completely irrelevant in late night all of the sudden.

I don't agree with a lot of Stewart's views but I love his show

Carrell, Colbert, Helms, Riggle,
The show launched a shitload of careers and although liberal leaning and a tad too preachy in his later years, I always enjoyed his show.
Comedy Central needs to fire Wilmore and find a solid couple of guys to anchor down these two shows. They're about to go from absolutely dominating late night to barely an after thought.

probably one of current show's weaknesses, the contributors are pretty weak currently

Wilmore's show is just too heavy handed on the political end and way too light on the actual funny.

Agree, because older nonhoushold names on his show were awesome. 3 women who's names I should know, senac, mandvi, the mac guy, etc...

Wilmore's show is horribly written, he has no guests worth a shite, and he as a person is just annoying. His voice, his attitude, everything. Annoying.
And he missed a massive opportunity with Keeping it 100. Instead of inviting authors and experts and joirnalists, etc... and having actual discussions and challenging knowledge on issues, he invites actors and chefs and social media morons and plays to their stengths and does nothing of substance.

Wilmore's show is horrible.

The whole panel discussion on Wilmores show is a total waste of time. He needs to change his format a bit if he wants to stay on the air.

The problem is with Wilmore's show is it's a cheap knock-off of Real Time with Bill Maher, but with a much more politically correct stance that serves merely as a forum for social justice warriors and he gets no one of substance there. While I have only watched the show like 5 times, each time I've tuned in, the panel is a mere circle jerk and their conversations are so fricking predictable it is nauseating. Wilmore should be taken off the air.

It wouldn't if he got people on the panel who disagreed with his views on a daily basis. And even if he did, he's merely ripping off Bill Maher and is too big of a pussy to get someone on there who actually has a highly controversial view that is intelligent and could debate him and his panel of SJWs.

Stewart's rebuttal to the FOX accusation that he's an administration stooge has been fun.
