End it. Better off with someone who shares your love of music.

I don't necessarily disagree, but music is pretty basic.

I now learned that this guy doesn't like art at any level so he's a "no."

I was watching Everybody Loves Raymond reruns and there's an episode where Fred Willard's character says he's never had a muffin and Marie looks at him and says "you've never had a muffin???"

This is how I felt. "You don't ever look at great photographs?" No. "You don't like any paintings?" "No." "What about Western art?" I tried every art form I could think of, every form of music.

He watches Arkansas football.

He can't be fixed (and not because of the Razorback football )

If you had just said this from the beginning, we could have ended this discussion.

He's a pig.

I do find it exceptionally odd that he's never found a genre, band, or even a handful of songs that put him in a mood. Whether it be a rockin' mood, sad, angry, introspective, nostalgic, what have you. I consider myself somewhat of a "music guy", and I like the sound of someone saying they could do without music a lot more than those people who talk about how they eat and breathe music. About how each song puts them on a spiritual journey. That always just drips of tryhard bullshitting to me.

Almost every response has been about people thinking he's some kind of animal torturing rapist. Give me a break. I personally don't like movies much unless I'm in a theater and can watch them without distraction. I also think a good TV show is just way better and more compelling than most movies. I would even go as far as to say I dislike at least 50% of the movies I've ever seen. That doesn't make me some kind of psychopath. It's just entertainment.

I feel the same about people who do not read. I can't understand it at all.

I like jazzy music but I wouldn't start with that for someone who doesn't like music at all.

Not a person I'd want to hang with, and especially never date. Have to be one soulless mofo to not like music.

If all you were familiar with was the kind of shite that comes on contemporary mix stations, I can 100% understand his perspective.

Once I started listening to classical I nearly completely lost interest in trying to get into contemporary music.

I just can't understand how someone can "just not like music." I love reading and movies, but I can understand how some could feel differently. But music? I honestly can't recall being around a person that didn't like music of some sort. At the very least.

Yeah, I'd worry about a person who doesn't like ANY music. It's one thing to not like the same kind of music as another, that happens all the time. But to feel no emotional connection to music? That's... I don't know, it feels like a personal who is closed off to a huge part of the human experience.

As John Waters says, we need to encourage reading. If you go home with somebody, and they don't own any books, don't frick them.

I feel the same way about music.
