I want to say us, but it is very hard to do so after that recent Gold Cup performance...

I think England's actually in pretty decent shape to compete in the next couple World Cups if they can get good play out of their back line.

Neither for at least 16 years, so 4 cycles. US within the next 3 cups after that.

So US.

A lot of people are on drugs on these boards. The best American player ever is Landon Donovan. England's had dozens of players better than Donovan over the years. The main problem with England is the same problem that plagued Spain for all those years. Most of their players care a lot more about playing for club than country. They've had lots of talent over the years but it's always felt like a great collection of individual talent rather than a team.

USA.

England will never win another World Cup and the one they do have they cheated to win.

I ran into some British Futbal fans in Thailand and talked some soccer with them. I told them that there was a real shift in soccer in the US and that we'd be significantly competitive in the 2022 WC...they stated that they thought we'd be really good in 2018 and they said, "I'll do you one better...the US will win a World Cup before we do." I was dumbfounded.

Most definitely England. The US is far behind England technically. England is a coherent coach away from being a top side. The English problem is one of mentality rather than technique, although the English are deficient of technique when compared to continental players, although I think that gap is diminishing.

England is much closer. They have world class players like Wayne Rooney. We started Brad Davis in the last World Cup.
