But these threads attract people that have high credit scores.
Yeah, it isn't exactly an unbiased sampling. I don't believe half these people though.

No way for me to do it without changing my info in Equifax. I pay for monthly monitoring and that just pops up whenever I look at my score.

I'm in the top 12%...
It helps when you purchased 2 houses and pay your bills...

Well I'll preface my score by saying that it was in the pits 5 years ago before I graduated college. Got a steady career, paid my bills down and voilà, decent credit score.

I used to have tons of mortgages on mine from houses I built and flipped years ago when I first started. A lot of them have rolled off, and since I use a credit line I established now, I don't need to do a full-blown mortgage but that was not healthy for my score at the time.

I find these credit card supplied scores to be 30-60 points higher than actual. perhaps it's their way to make you fell better about using their cards more.
From what I've read there really are a lot of different scores and weights that creditors can use to determine credit worthiness depending on their priorities.
A while ago I was registered through the AMEX credit monitoring service. They used some sort of "PLUS" (?) score I think it was called as a fake FICO. It just makes the customer feel good about having some stupid kind of meaningless number.

I'd still loan you money, man.
Just don't get behind on the vig.

FICO score is actually driven by auto loan credit more than mortgage's, home loans eat up a debt to income ratio actually. Also revolving paid on time credit drives it into the 800's.

You summed this whole message board up in one small post of three letters.
Congrats

Staying away from bad debt is a huge problem for many especially those that don't have much financial support from parents while in college. My wife and I started out this way and it took us over 10 years to dig ourselves out of that massive hole.

Credit Score? What kind of OT baller has to use credit? Been paying cash for houses, cars, hookers, and blow since the age of 17 son.

it was 820 when I bought my truck in 2011. No idea what it is now.
