Well considering Doyle is facing a Murder 2 charge, I'd say that statement/witness is pretty credible. Unless you've got some facts that refute what the police on the scene found.

Perhaps. I just stated my opinion based on the facts in the OP.
Besides, being charged with a crime doesn't mean you are guilty.
