First time trip to Tiger Stadium .

Trying to come in for the game on Sat 10/3 v East Michigan.

I know that TV will decide what time we kick off but any decent educated guesses ?

I need to book some flights . Thanks

It's almost always a night game against crappy non-conference teams. Around 6 would be my guess

CBS gets first dibs on game selection for their 2:30 central slot and no other game where an SEC team is the home team can air during that time period. So you should be good to plan on a start time of late afternoon and it will probably be broadcasted on ESPNU

Thanks very much for the quick reply.

A night game would be perfect for me.

Any idea when we will know for certain. Is there a rough date when tv will announce?

Your plan should cover all bases:

Arrive Friday
Start drinking
Enjoy game
Remember waking up Sunday for a miserable drive home.

I'm a Tiger Band Alum, and will be attending that game. We have complained for years when this game is an SEC game, because they move it up to a day game. Day games cut into our practice schedule and everything preceding the kickoff on our schedule. We have specifically asked for a non-conference cupcake for this game, so that it is a night game. I suspect that it will be a 7PM kickoff.

6:30/7pm kickoff.

KO happens 5 mins into the first quarter.

... until last season.

ETA: I would guess 6:30 on SEC Network.

Actually, almost every crappy non-conference home game has been at 6 PM CT the last few years, not 7. Now with the SEC network, they have a 6:30 slot which seems likely The only non night non-conference game in recent memory was the Gustav App State game.

Sam Houston State and New Mexico State were both 6:30 p.m. kickoffs on SEC Network last season. The UL-Monroe game was a 6 p.m. kickoff on ESPNU.

It'll be a night game unless for some awful reason they move up to the 11 o'clock slot. But then it wouldn't even be worth going to if that happened.

A home day game against a G5 or FCS school seems more possible now with the SEC Network but I remember Alleva writing the SEC a letter requesting LSU home games be night games and the SEC seemed to oblige last season. I'm not sure how much influence that letter had but every single LSU regular season game (home and away) was a night game last season.

Again, that was the Tiger Alumni Band Reunion game, an 11AM kickoff. Our practice started at 6:30AM, and by the end of the game, it was 94 degrees. Awful!
