I remember reading an article about them trying out Preston at 1st Base in the minors and it turned out pretty bad. His defense was always his down side and the reason he wasn't a higher ranked prospect.

I've watched Tucker play 1st in the minors and he looked like a retard. If Luhnow is talking about possibly bringing up Tyler White to play first it means Preston Tucker can't play 1st worth a frick. It's not that hard to figure out, unless you're dumb.

He played 13 total games at first base in the minors after not playing it at UF for two years. He had a bad first three games there when he got to AAA. Depending on the depth chart next spring, he might get a shot there because he's definitely not a good OF.

If the guy was an above average first baseman in college, how is he incapable now?
The position is not that difficult. Give him an offseason and maybe he could get back to form.

He basically had a bad weekend in OKC after not playing the position regularly in four years. But he does have a college track record of being very good at 1B.
