Signing guys to massive deals and trading/cutting them a year later is not the right way. Significant portions of our cap in 2015 and 2016 will be spent on guys playing for other teams.

Amen. Jimmy Graham and Galette were 2 pretty expensive "mistakes" that go MUCH deeper than just contracts. Trading Jimmy in attempt to replenish talent because we can't draft for shite is embarrassing.
Now gone are probably our best 3 draft gems of the last few years. Stills, Graham, and Galette via UDFA. Kinda sad, actually.

Of course not. But you don't chase bad decisions with more and more bad decisions to try and justify your original one. This move took balls--and I am proud of them cutting bait when it is clearly going to frick the cap-wise. But they have committed to a philosophy and mean to see it through. For that, they have to be commended. The fact that they didn't have the foresight to see this coming 2 years ago, though, is indeed troubling.
But you need to get off Junior's nuts here. He is the bad guy in all of this. Just think about just how fricking terrible a human being he must be for them to have pulled, the trigger on this financial disaster. It's downright staggering.
