I've always been able to completely silence my phone but still have the phone vibrate with the alarm noises in the morning. I haven't changed anything with the phone recently.
Any way to fix it?

is there "do not disturb" turned on or something?
My iphone lives on silent and my alarm has never failed me

No it's not
I know! The alarms have always been so reliable and the vibrate is an essential part.
The phone still vibrates with the alarms if the phone isn't on silent, which was never necessary.

I know this sounds kinda silly and "is your computer turned on," to an extent...but have you tried restarting your phone?
