I watched Louisuana Tech smash them in person last year. It would take an all time collapse to lose that game.
I went to that game in hopes of seeing a great college football game. The game was hyped locally, regionally and even got some national attention.
It was an arse whipping combined with a side dish of domination. The game was never in question.
LSU will win by 48 points with little effort.

I've now seen posts referring to both Syracuse and WKU as potential trap games. If so, LSU is in for a long season.

Thanks for the sports cliche. I'll be sure to tell les miles next time I see him that any team can win or lose on any given day
Cliche? Perhaps, but maybe that's because it's true.
If any team comes out lazy with low intensity and the other team is jacked, bad shite can happen. We've all seen it many, many times over the years.
Of course, if we're ready to play, we dominate. But we can't just walk on the field and think we'll win.

When have we ever lost a game like this under miles? This is not a trap game. A trap game is a game where you should win but could lose without your best game. It is not a game where you would have to play historically bad to lose. A trap game is not the type of game that goes down as one of if not the biggest win in the winning teams history.

Actually no, he got a medical waiver for a 6th year because he missed most of 2011 and 2012 due to injury.
Got it... Was wondering and couldn't get an answer when I asked if this was the case.
It says RS Sr by his numbers for 2014 in the OP link.

Now we're quibbling over definitions. To me, a trap game is one where a team isn't ready to play emotionally, usually due to a big game or stretch of games just before. Whether that opponent is pretty good, or a dog, doesn't factor into the definition. Any team can lose if they don't bring enough emotional intensity. We've seen it many times.

Syracuse concerns me. Yes, I realize we should destroy them and I think we will, but that game is on the road the week after MSU and Auburn back-to-back. I think we'll be emotionally flat and they'll be sky-high for us.
Hopefully we'll brush off the sluggishness early and take care of business. So I predict a close, sloppy first half and we pull away in the second half.

Yeah but we could play bad and still win by 20 points. This isn't a team that can beat LSU if the tigers only play sluggish and mediocre. LSU would have to play an all time bad game. The ESPN power index will be like 95 percent LSU victory.

Their QB can fling it.
He will spend much of the evening running for self-preservation. He'll be neither the first nor last guy with an NFL future who'll wake up to a nightmare in Tiger Stadium. Tigers win 55-10.
