Is there anyway to hook up a roku 3 with a router if the cable internet modem is in another room?

The instructions say to hook up roku to modem but modem isnt in same room as TV I want roku on.

It should ask you to put in your wireless password. You will also have to go to roku website and set up an account and give a credit card number, although you will not be charged anything.

How do I setup roku with a router in a separate room then modem?

Do you use wireless internet for anything else? iPad, laptop, etc?

So I just have to put in my password and it will work? I way over thought this

Meh. Every new device presents new challenges.
On a related note, I just got a TCL Roku television for my home gym and I couldn't be more pleased with Roku so far. The TCL picture quality is nothing to write home about, but I cannot recommend it more highly for a "no wire" setup - stand alone for a gym, "outside" setup, etc., within range of your wireless router or access point.
(And the picture isn't terrible, it's just older technology.)

Don't feel bad. My father-in-law gave the missus and I a Roku. I've never tinkered with them before so I bought a wireless to wired adapter since it has a NIC and my router is in another room. It wasn't until a month later when I decided to check out the settings that I found it had wifi

love my roku stick.
if you have movies or tv shows on your computer's hard drive you like to watch on your big screen tv with the roku get the app known as plex.
it is free for roku. you just install plex on your pc and then get the app on roku.. and it will ask you on your pc where your files are located.. just add the drive.. and voila.. it puts them to your plex app in a really nice navigation menu.
any ways, hope you enjoy your roku.

Speaking of which - my aforementioned TCL Roku set - DOESN'T have an ethernet connection - it's wifi only.
So, the evolution is clear - "Everybody wants wifi" is driving the market, not wifi as an option.
I think mobile devices triggered this, but I see ethernet becoming more of the option on all but desktops in the near future - even laptops will get to where wifi is automatic, but ethernet isn't (heck, maybe we're already there. )

Just bought one and finally got the wireless to work but the wired connection doesn't work. My router shows an ip for the wired connection. I've disabled pings in the Roku as their tech support suggested.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I've also tried removing the wired connection's IP from the router and reacquiring.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
