Man, I'm so ready for football.
This X 1,000. McNeese and then we're right into the deep end with MSU and Auburn.

My wife will probably be the only one in the bar wearing McNeese swag (we both have degrees from there... yeah I'm one of "those fans").
Just when I thought we could be friends.

Come on, bro.
Not going to LSU has always been one of my biggest regrets. But I met my wife at McNeese, so I can't besmirch the school itself too much.
I couldn't give a shite less about McNeese football, however. I was born into LSU fandom. And I'm not one who thinks my undergrad alma mater should have an bearing on my fanhood.

Check out 98.5 the Sports Hub. I love it. But you'll learn very quickly how little this town cares about college sports. Too much else to talk about.
Some of the locals are as entertaining as Paul Finebaum's Alabama callers.

I've caught a few ESPN radio shows since I've been here. Haven't heard much local. I figured I'd have to stick to the web for my college sports fix though.

I am a huge fan of the Baseball Tavern over Legends. The Baseball Tavern actually feels like you are back in Baton Rouge. They play all the LSU songs, the crowd is laid back, the food is good, etc. Plus the bar will open up the downstairs and upstairs on packed game days.
Legends is too stuffy for me. and (admittedly) I was there on 1.9.12 and have refused to go back since.

All of this applies to Legends too (except perhaps the food being "good;" it just "is).

This I agree with. It always has been.

Fair enough. They do play the songs and my comment was misleading. But yes, Legends is more stuffy and if I remember correctly has more "tabled" seating that provided less of a bar-type atmosphere.
My comments are limited to the 3x I have been to Legends and the ~5x I have been to the Baseball Tavern. Both are great to go to if you happen to be in NYC or Boston. If you have the option to be in either city (and all else being equal) Baseball Tavern seems like the consensus choice if you want to even remotely feel like you are watching an LSU game in Baton Rouge or NOLA.

Yeah apparently aVa sticks his nose up at people who live on the Charles River in Charlestown. It's not fancy enough for him I suppose.
But hey, I consider myself a nobody poster with no name recognition, so to have someone follow me to multiple threads to try and instigate shite is a bit of an honor.

Hm... he sounds like a barrel of laughs.
I'm assuming you've never met in person. People are considerably less jackassy when there isn't a keyboard in between them.

Nah don't know him irl, don't really care to.
And I hope so because I know I can be a jackass on here at times but I generally consider myself a nice enough guy.
