I'm glad you caught the irony behind that statement.

How do you even get into a discussion about that? I'm not great at convo, but I'm pretty sure I'm better than that. Plus, why talk to an ugly in the first place? I'd just talk to a dude about sports before I'd talk to a .1.

Well, they do have a far better natural port than New Orleans but it's the Mississippi River that made New Orleans so strategic.

Simply not true. In 1840, New Orleans was tied with Baltimore for the second largest city in the country. It was an educational and cultural center rivaled only by New York. Chicago, Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta were just wide spots in the road at that time.

Hmmm, let's look at some facts:

quote:

ASPA Economic Impact in Alabama
127,591 Direct and Indirect Jobs
$506+ Million in Direct and Indirect Tax Impact
Total Economic Value $18.7 Billion

quote:

State Economic Impact
160,500 Total Jobs
$8 Billion in earning
Generates $800 Million in State Taxes

I guess having less of everything makes the AL Port more prestigious.

I've never heard this. And I wouldn't agree with it if someone was to tell me that either.
