Cam Cameron called that game wonderfully and creatively. Lots of trick plays, offense churned, Fournette was beast as always. John Chavis however had already decided to leave and called a half assed vanilla defense. Offensively, we cant always rely on trick plays to gain yds but we can keep some wrinkles such as the jet sweep/option, TE passes, and QB designed runs. Defense can and will be managed well this season by Orgeron and Steele. Imo Tony Ball will also teach receivers to beat the press and catch balls more accurately. IMHO this game shows good signs of what we will do, but we WILL win instead of losing

Our WRs were non-existent in that game.

We actually didn't do much on offense that game.

Especially considering ND had literally 3 starters on D for that game..

We had one busted deep wide open pass for a TD, and Fournette had 1 long TD along with a special teams TD..

That's 3 of our 4 TDs right there.. We didn't really extend drives on offense or capitalize off much of anything all game. People say our defense lost that game, but our offense should have performed far superior and put this game away.

Watching ND's last drive of the game you can see that there's absolutely no pass rush and ND was having a field day running up the middle. Damn shame.

Dural and Donte Jackson on speed sweeps. Designed QB runs. Guice and Fournette catching passes out of the backfield. Two tight end sets. Three wide receiver sets. SCREEN PASSES. And QB scrambles.

This year's offense will be Cam's most creative. He's in his third year and his offense will be fully implemented. You'll see a lot more from this offense than just handing it off to Fournette.

ETA: we have the athletes at the fullback position now to make them a viable threat in the rollout passing game. Look for that near the end zone and on early downs. Also, Harris' arm strength gives us tremendous flexibility in the play action passing game. Especially out of the fake read option.

I can't freaking wait for this season.

Those speed/jet sweeps with Jackson and Guice will be crazy good. Look how much Wisconsin ran it with Gordon. I mean for three years they did this with him. When he was the third string back, the backup, and then the starter, they still ran it him on them and he kept getting long TDs out of it. Has nothing to do with how well you pass either because Wisconsin stank as bad as we did. It's all about execution and especially blocking well.

Harris as the QB and Guice and Jackson as the RB/WR on this with the option to keep it. Harris on the zone read with the option to keep, pass, or throw (there are several videos with Cam working on this with Harris last year). Play action to Dupre or Dural or Chark will be crazy as well.

That's why I say the media is clueless. That's why I say fans in general are clueless. LSU will be one of the most explosive teams this coming year. We have more pure offensive talent than we have ever had before. Then we have a ton of experience as we bring back 8 starters including 3 on the OL (Jennings would have been 9, but I think he made the one mistake that gave Harris all the opportunity he needed).

This is the only game I can remember where LSU was literally denied points on a play that later proved mathematically to be the difference in the game.
