Actually Fanon wrote about black on black crime well in advance of the Ebony article you cite and was probably the non-credited source of their article in 1973.

Thanks. I just grabbed a quick link for a source that was dated and that the other poster would recognize. Pretty chilling that they were describing the gang of Chicago way back in the 70's and lamenting the crime, killing and all that 40 years ago and it has done nothing but gotten worse.

Potentially, but those are completely different issues. The fact that we're doing away with a hate symbol 150 years after its last legitimate uses says that we didn't get it right when we should. And just because we didn't get it right then doesn't mean we can't get it right now.

Great post. If anything, some posters uses these events as self fulfilling prophecies to justify their racism. "Black on black" crime isn't a new phenomenon... It's been a justification for racism since the late 1800s when it first started making its wave.
Our obsession with guns and violence is an American issue that white people are just as invested in as anyone else.
