Rant aside, we played our best game of the season today.
Unfortunately, Howard decided to have a monster game.
(Also, wtf was with the refereeing towards the end? I haven't seen one-sided refereeing like that all season.)

If you look at most successful Premier League clubs, they beat teams with incredible pace and unpredictability in the final third. I love Dembele, but a guy like that is only useful as a DM. Period.

Exactly.
Our midfield totally shut down Everton's midfield and forced them to play hoofball.
But when it came time to make runs off the ball and get behind them, it was just utterly lacking in creativity and pace.
I'm starting to think maybe a 4-3-3 would better suit our players' natural abilities.

Also I really hope Dembele is okay. He isn't the type to come off unless he is really injured.

It didn't look good. At all. Broken ankle? Torn Achilles? I agree with you, he is a hoss. That's why I think it's bad. I'm not expecting to see him back on the pitch for awhile.

Also with the painted glass that is our clubs inner workings, we will probably never find out what it is.

Poch's post game presser.
He says at the end that we are looking at a different player than Saido, and that we are definitely making at least one more move before Tuesday.

Well I should hope so. I don't know who this Pato cat is....just started following club football after the 2010 World Cup. We definitely need pace though.

Brazilian kid, a couple of years ago he was going to be the next Ronaldinho (apparently nothing like Ronaldinho). Then he got avian bird syndrome and is injured always.
I've heard shite things about his attitude. I'm not really interested in him. I want Charlie Austin, and he will be cheap on deadline day.

He is nothing like Ronaldinho, he's a striker... a lot of pace and a clinical finisher. Has all the physical tools to be world class, but had a ton of muscular injuries at AC Milan... He's been injury free for quite a while now and is playing well in Brazil.
Ive wanted us to take a chance on him the past two seasons, but I understand the question marks about his injuries

But, but we must repost from reddit and make distant comparisons in here apparently

Saints' boss Koeman:
quote:fricker is advocating for Wanyama to wait a year to move to a "bigger" club than Tottenham. It's Schneiderlin all over again. frick this guy.
That is an easy answer and the player has to accept that, maybe it is good for Victor to talk to Morgan, because I think he is more happy now than he was last year even to do the move he wanted at that moment.

Honestly, it's not terrible advice. It would definitely suck for us though. Seems like that happens a lot. Spurs are rumoured after a player. Then a couple of years later he lands at a bigger club.

Erik Lamela is staying. Pochettino allegedly blocked the transfer. I'm still a bit happy. I have a Lamela shirt, and now it stays relevant.
If Poch believes, I believe.

I'm ok with this, as long as he remains on the bench for PL. He plays very well for us in Europe though.
Posted on 8/31/15 at 10:48 pm to SwaggerCopter
Just wear a different kit for our PL games and the Lamela kit for Europa and we will have the many blessings.
Posted on 8/31/15 at 10:52 pm to CapitalCityDevil
I still haven't ordered a kit for this year. I'm really starting to lean towards Dier. I think he will be a player for us for many years to come.
