(Sauza Margarita Mix works best)
1/2oz fresh squeezed oj

Good question with a very good answer. The sauza mix is not as sweet as simple syrup and doesn't contribute to an overly sweet drink. Lemon juice would contradict the Aperol and make the drink bitter. This drink is balanced and refreshing. The amount of mix is marginal compared to the rest of the ingredients but compliments them well. I'm not one to reinvent the wheel. If a company makes a quality product, then I will use that product without pretension.
