Then what's the excuse for losing to teams with far inferior talent?

My biggest concern this year was that we were making the same mistakes in March that we made in November, very frustrating. Not to mention that effort and focus, especially against inferior teams, does not seem to be there.

In my opinion, this is a make or break year for him. He has talent, depth, some upper class players mixed with younger talent (which is the norm in college basketball today). If we lose to 3-4 games to teams outside the top 6 in the conference and end up exiting during the first weekend of the NCAAT, I think there are red flags.

It was obvious to me that we lacked on court leadership and that had a lot to do with why they had breakdowns in many areas. This team will be a great mix of leaders and even young talented on the court leaders. Mickey was one of the smarter players we had on the court last year but wasn't vocal. I just think this years team will be more structured and game savvy. Hopefully Epps and Robinson at least improved on Defense.
