re: Swansea City 2015/16 Season Long Thread: ***Now an American Takeover Edition****

This is just the weirdest season ever. There was a patch where teams all around us( palace and Watford for example) were winning games they shouldn't and getting a lot of points while we were losing points we shouldn't. As you can see recently palace and Watfords luck has run up and they haven't been getting those points and we finally stopped choking and started to get out points back. We will be safe and could finish 10th but I'm still disappointed because we really should have been in a Europa spot this season

Safety should be all but locked up. This run in of games though...
APRIL
Sat, Apr 2: Stoke City (a)
Sat, April 9: Chelsea (h)
Sat, Apr 16: Newcastle United (a)
Sat, Apr 23: Leicester City (a)
Sat, Apr 30: Liverpool (h)
MAY
Sat, May 7: West Ham (a)
Sun, May 15 Manchester City (h)
GOD DAMN!!! Newcastle are obviously the only crap team there but Rafa will have them playing better as they already looked improved in his short time. These last 7 could be brutal
Good news is Barrow has emerged as a real threat for us. With that said we have somehow become one of the most boring teams in the league to watch. Just awful. If it stays that way to the end of the season I don't think Guidolin will be back

Didn't watch this weekends game but heard we looked second best. I don't get this season our players are way better than this. Hopefully after an offseason with the new coaching staff we perform better next year

What happened with Jefferson Montero? I remember watching him last season and early on this season and being really impressed on how dangerous and quick he was on the wing. I've watched a couple of games recently and haven't seen him get any playing time.
And yes, this team has become very boring. It hurts me watching Gomis play up top. He's so slow and clumsy.

Fell in a patch of awful form during the overall bad run of form in the fall that led to Monk's sacking. Hasn't really played since (not even a lock to be in the 18 anymore)
I think it's a bit unfair to him because Neil Taylor would leave him absolutely isolated out on the left with no support at all so he would basically have 2 defenders to take on by himself at all times. I would like to see what he could do with Kingsley at LB. One negative of his play though is that he doesn't offer much defensive support either

And stupid. Don't forget stupid. Still leads the league in offside even though he hasn't played much at all the 2nd half of the season. And against Arsenal and Villa he had the opportunities to run towards the corner flag to kill off the game in each game and failed to do so leading to counter attacks in the last seconds of the game

Nice comeback on Saturday. They gave Montero another chance and I thought he provided a really good spark in the 2nd half. His speed is such an important weapon for this team and he seemingly can penetrate the box every time he gets the ball on the wing. We look very slow and predictable without him.

Forgot to post after the game. Yes Montero changed the game. Provided width and an attacking threat we lacked up to that point. Also he eased the pressure off the defense since we actually posed an attacking threat. Also you could see he has listened to Guidolin's criticism and tracked back and helped on defense. He should get a lot more minutes going forward.
Gylfi and Cork again put in their tireless efforts. Routledge too. It was his best game of the season.
Gomis - I don't know what else to say. He's absolutely worthless. He offers nothing and is almost worse than playing down a man at times. He gets into promising positions and then completely shits the bed every time losing possession. I'm done.

American takeover incoming. Jenkins to remain as chairman and the trust will retain their portion of the club

I would like the club to get some money to invest in squad/stadium but it has to be the right way. I don't want some foreigners to come in and take over everything. I just want the current people to have more money to do what they have been doing

Rough one Saturday. Fell into a trap game where we couldn't defend set pieces and got unlucky with our finishes.
Looking forward to Leicester Sunday though.

Wet turd of a performance. Just awful. Hope this isn't the case of they reached 40 points and will now sleepwalk the rest of the way in

Well this team is on the beach already. I say frick it and let some of the youth players get a shot. They will actually put forth an effort.
Also looking more and more like Rodgers is returning which I welcome. I can hardly watch this crap anymore

Swans will be without Williams, Taylor, Sigurdsson, Paloschi and Montero for the trip to West Ham this weekend. Yikes.

that's fine, there last game at that stadium so we will let them win 4-0
is this ash's first missed game in like 4 year haha
And is the American take over official yet?

Think it's all but done but don't think they have signed everything yet

So much to ponder now. Do we stick with Guidolin now that he's playing wingers? Can we rely on Ayew to be a striker?
One thing I know is that Kingsley should be the LB next season. I'm done with Taylor.
Oh and Cork is a fricking beast. He doesn't stop.
