No clue what carb issue you're having, the 3 Stihl products I use, (regularly to intermittently) all work well. I have an Echo and my dad has a Shindawia weed eater, I use both. Shindawia is far better than the echo. Both are "light commercial".

FWIW he/we would still have the old Shindawia if they still made the old carb for it.

RedMax >>> all IMO and I wish I would have gone that route last year but I like the Echo. The PAS system is strong as hell.

Yes I know RedMax is Husqvarna and my Husqvarna hedge trimmer is a beast.

Didn't Echo buy Shindaiwa?

I definitely don't use tools nearly like you do OP, but never had a problem with our Stihl pole saws. I have to clean the carbs once every two years or so, and I keep stabilizer in them when not in use or run them dry depending on how long I know they're gonna be sitting up. We also have a Sithl chainsaw that's who knows how old and it runs like a top.
