To become teachers and nurses. How many are in the STEM majors?

You can be an educated woman and be domestic.
With that being said, the SJW liberal feminists have demonized domesticity...and people still wonder why so many women don't know how to cook, do laundry, or clean.

I am educated and have many domestic skills, which i developed on my own because schools do not offer such things anymore. Sad that some people don't even know how a button and throw out a garment for the lack of a button.
I love sewing, crocheting, and many other assorted crafts which have save me so much money because I look at what is commercially available and decide I can make it on my own much better and much cheaper. I have custom sewn a lot of my husbands hunting and scuba diving accessories.
As am elementary teacher I tried to incorporate basic skills such as sewing into my lessons. our class made a quit and did many little crafts that teach skills that are useful later. But I had to buy all the supplies with my own money, not a penny from the school.
And this is why our granddaughter will be home-schooled by me. I am currently developing a small home-school group for her so she will have kids to socialize with in a private preschool type setting on our family "compound" (as one TDer described our family property where 4 generations of our family live).
PS. i hate the feminist SJW and all their BS.

Sadly, home-ec is too much of a liability for most La. public schools. A kid might get burned and sue. The stoves and sewing machines and equip and supplies are expensive. Plus so many of these kids can't even pass basic standardized test so they need to focus just on reading and writing and math.
It's sad because in a real Home Ec class, kids learn to read and follow directions, do measurements, etc which is a great way for them to actually use their reading comprehension and math skills in a real life situation.
