How long is your dog alone during the day?

Sometimes if my wife has time she will come home at lunch and let him out, otherwise he's got the house to himself for 8-9 during the week.
He spends all his time with us in the evenings and weekends so I don't feel too bad. Is that pretty normal? He's got free reign of the house

Nothing wrong with that IMO. My wife just went back to school, so our animals have had her around a little more than previously, Before that, they could be alone for 10-12 hours. They seem to mostly sleep all day, so I doubt it's hard on them

Depends on the breed, but some prefer or even need attention on a regular basis.

730-4, free reign.
Same, he travels with us also.

Generally 8 hours and every time I come home, there is a nice big drool spot on the couch or his bed. He just sleeps all day I think, never had anything destroyed.

from 545am until about 2:45pm

Longest 6 hour. Anything beyond that I take her to Doggie Daycare.

Just depends on my schedule. I'm
sleeping during the day mostly so technically they are not alone(even though one is in his kennel while I sleep)

Not long, my retired father walks every morning and I only live a few blocks from them so he picks her up and she finishes his walk with her and she spends the day with him and mom.

Our boxer just recently graduated to staying inside all day while Mrs. Rusty and I are at work, however I still come home at lunch b/c we have a great dane puppy. She stays in a crate during these hours.
Longest stretch alone is probably around 5-6 hours.

6:30 to 4, unless my roommate is home and let's them out. But I'm pretty sure they just sleep all day

Depends on the day. Sometime upwards of 13 hours. She has free reign of the back yard.

We recently got another dog to keep the older one company while we're at work all day. They outwardly act like they hate each other, but at least the older one isn't by himself all day anymore.

I wish I had a backyard to put him out in.
We have a huge field across from our house that he loves. But it's public and not gated so I can't just leave him in it all day

730-11
12-430
She just lies on the couch. She's an energetic/intelligent breed that's typically destructive if left alone but mine doesn't really destroy anything anymore.
Her puppy days were different

Usually from 7 or 8 till 5:30. A little longer than I would like but I have a camera that alerts me whenever there's movement and she gets up from her bed maybe twice a day for a couple of minutes to walk around, otherwise she's sleeping. Even when we're there she mostly just sleeps during the day.
We also have a college kid that we'll get to come one or two days a week to take her for a walk and my mom is retired so she stops by a lot to do the same.
