Sacred implies a center of religion. I guess that depends on your perspective. I don't think of Paris really when I think of religion. Rome and Jerusalem probably have it beat from that perspective. Mecca is synonymous with religious center. What would be it for the eastern world? New Delhi in India? Eta: something in Nepal?

There's more than one definition of sacred and this one was obvious from context. You chose to be pedantic and still failed.
