Bump for a little help.
Heading to a farm this weekend to do a little turkey hunting and there is a nice stocked lake. Last year I pulled a 6.5lber out of it with conventional tackle. This year I'm bringing my 5wt fly rod too. What size leader should I use and suggestions on flies?

for bass fishing you want to go 0x or bigger for a leader, especially if you have decent sized fish. They are not leader shy but will abrade the hell out of one. thickness is more important than strength IMO. Check your leader after every fish and re-tie if it is abraded.
FYI, you can land a bass just fine on a 5wt but it is really going to limit your fly selection. I mostly fish for bass with my 8wt to be able to throw the flies I want. If you have a bigger rod i'd bring it.
I like poppers/sliders/divers early and late. Don't be afraid to go big.
For subsurface: clouser minnows, meat whistles, lunch moneys, crawfish imitations, craft fur type baitfish, anything with a bunny strip.
