27 years in BR, and I'll say Yes it's absolutely MISERABLE until about 7pm. Like someone else said, a wreck on any of the major interstates running through BR causes a HUGE mess that spreads like wildfire throughout the city. It honestly makes me hate this town.

Herein lies your problem. Poor infrastructure planning. Austin has pretty much the same issues. Whenever you have a major interstate running through the middle of town and it's chock full of 18-wheelers day in and day out, it's a recipe for disaster. The problem is compounded in cities like BR and Austin because locals use the interstate for their daily commutes.

The geniuses running our city have decided that the best way to combat congestion on our other major thoroughfare (Mopac), is to narrow the lanes and add an HOV toll lane, which probably won't get used by enough drivers to make much of a difference.
