These idiots should have know you can't get away, especially nowadays. You have to either have a very good outside associate or get very lucky.

Well that was disappointing. I would rather kill myself than go back to the hellhole prisons call solitary confinement for the rest of my life.

It's clear now that the escape plan after they got out fell through when the woman didn't meet up with them to drive several hours from the prison. All that elaborate planning and they didn't think of having a plan b or plan c to get out of New York? C'mon.

Another example of a woman fricking up a perfectly good plan.

Would have taken the risk and tried to cross into Canada. Kind of shocked they didn't get further.

Exactly. Can't you just walk across most of the border without being stopped or checked?

This could've been the modern day shawshank, escape from Alcatraz and with a 5-7 hour drive headstart, chances are very high that they would never be found for a very long time. And even after their escape get discovered, they would've been impossible to track considering they would be in a vehicle that was not reported stolen. But.... A woman fricked all that up.

But, they should've been competent enough to have a contingency plan in case the woman didn't show up. Never walk the tightrope without a net.

The news tried to make it sound much harder to cross into Canada. When actually if the prisoners would have crossed during the night. They would have had a favorable chance of not getting caught.

Does anyone have a link or map of where each one was found? Would be interesting to see how far away they got from the prison.

They would've certainly made it with 3.5 weeks on foot.

But honestly, I don't think it would've done any good. There's extradition, RCMP watching this situation and their borders with a very close eye, hard as shite to blend in and stay out of sight and way too much cooperation going on between Canada and New York. If I made it into Canada, I would do everything I can to get fake identities of enough money to sail out of the country.

The goal should've been Mexico from the very start with final destination being Venezuela or Honduras as there's no extradition treaty.

Through the woods, sure. But they've got to still be close enough to civilization to steal from camps, etc to eat.

But upstate NY and Canada are very connected.

This coverage on CNN is pretty epic. They keep interviewing gross looking rednecks who have gathered outside of the hospital where they brought the guy.

SHU/Isolation for the rest of his life. About the only human being he'll have contact with is maybe an occasional lawyer visit--if that. A high school friend of mine spent years in isolation cells at Joliet and the Supermax at Florence, CO. Among the peculiarities he emerged with are a stutter and the habit of covering his mouth before he speaks. Let's just say that isolation is not an environment conducive to self-improvement.
