Good. I'd rather have him and not need him, than the other way around. He has starting experience and sounds like a good student. Congrats to him for getting the gig.

Just dum IMO. We have studs lined up and other local in state kids begging for offers, and we sign a guy who couldn't play in that crap conference for a loser. And he has to sit?

Since this is the LSU recruiting board, and not the bottom dwellers of the B1G recruiting board, I will stay on topic.
From a recruiting perspective, this adds a quality depth QB for next year, without using a scholly in this or next class. I like it.

I realize there was a good chance that we didn't take another QB in this class, but taking Etling solidifies it. I agree with others though. Hopefully, he can be a quality back-up AND he doesn't count towards this year's class.

I'm all for depth but I remember that last big 10 transfer we got and he didn't even have to sit.

The guy can play. Will be our number 2 next year after either Harris/Jennings transfers. Franks get to redshirt; then it's his era
