You're referring to Germany? One of the most economically advanced countries in the world?

Not exactly. Germany, Mexico and other countries have this agreement:
quote:
Since the late 1970’s, the U.S. has established international social security agreements that coordinate the U.S. Social Security program with the comparable programs of other countries.
These international social security agreements are called “totalization agreements” and have two main purposes:
Eliminate dual social security taxation that occurs when a worker from one country works in another country and is required to pay social security taxes to both countries on the same earnings. As a result of existing totalization agreements, U.S. workers and employers currently are saving about $800 million annually in foreign taxes they do not have to pay.
Help fill gaps in benefit protection for workers who have divided their careers between the U.S. and another country, but who have not worked long enough in one or both countries to qualify for social security benefits. With totalization, workers are allowed to combine work credits from both countries to become eligible for benefits. The benefit amount paid is proportional to the amount of credits earned in the paying country.
It then goes on to talk about the costs to the "Social Security Trust Fund" (which doesn't really exist other than IOUs, it's been raided since the 1980s), which verifies that work taxed in the U.S. has those SS taxes shipped overseas (the SS website wasn't very transparent about that, though).

But I think most of the people that move here are appreciative and and as stated above they are usually productive members of society.
And i think a lot of people, when hearing a foreigner complaining or criticizing our government or way of doing things, take it much differently than they would from a citizen. I don't think that's fair if they're working and living here. They more than likely do the same thing about their native country.

Oh the irony
I had a few friends in college that were from Germany who loved to bitch about things in the US. They were all cool until you started talking about politics with them. Whenever they'd bring up how racist the US was, I'd bring up the Nazis and Holocaust. I've never seen someone get so mad and defensive so fast after bringing that subject up to them

For a person who has hands on experience on both US and universal healthcare system, he has every right to. You have no idea how terrible and insanely overpriced it is in the US compared to other developed nations.

Germany made a decision to have super-high taxes to pay for this. It also helps that the United States is providing its national security.
Once the Muzzies overrun them, though, all that pie-in-the-sky shite in Europe will end, post hace. Ol' Hans will get mad as hell and not take it anymore.

Because he can make more money here. And he lives in the U.S. and pays income tax on what he earns, so he has just as much a right to bitch as anyon else.

You've never been. It's a great country. In fact, I'm willing to bet you've never left the country. You probably had your honeymoon at Disney World.
