More powerful hardware than current systems in order to still be competitive when future hardware comes out. How much more powerful will depend on if MSFT and Sony plan to stick with their 10 year model.
Unified account system with handheld.
Improved online infrastructure.
Quality 1st party titles.
3rd party multi plat support.
This is a great start. I think that Nintendo needs to be close to PS5/Xbox4. It doesn't need to be more powerful, just able to get every third party title Sony/MS get.
They need to work a lot more with these developers and open up on information to assist with development. I know that tons of developers are freely able to source Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica for assistance.
Unified accounts are a requirement. Nintendo doesn't need to innovate the online experience, they just need to meet par set by their competition.
Lastly, I think it's important that they start very strong. A solid launch with good titles coming out in year 1 can set the tone for the rest of the generation.
