I get that argument, but I personally think it's overblown. For example, one of those teams was the Orlando Magic...the Shaq/Penny team that the Bulls swept easily in the conference finals. Some talent may have been spread around, but the heavyweights were still heavy.

That team was talented but young. They weren't ready to take that next step & the playoff experience of the Bulls was just too much for them. Still though, the other newly formed teams were still pretty bad & that enabled to the Bulls to pad their win column. You have to remember that the Celtics & Pistons of the 80s/early 90s were old & by large part broken up then in the East.
